wo weeks ago, I had the pleasure to participate to an embroidery initiation workshop (cross stich discovery) proposed by Filanthrope Broderies, Christelle Gontier-Petiot. She proposed to learn to make a pattern to choose in the « Miguel le Caméléon » collection, to learn to prepare the skeins, to read the diagram to make the design and to assemble it in a medallion.
I chose the Miguel Halloween #3 purple and adorned with spiders and black bats flying on its magic broom. I think I will start making more embroideries. It’s a really beautiful creative activity that I have discovered.
Since the training course, I continued my embroidery and here is the final result!
Other workshops were proposed that day and the next day: an embroidery customization and embellishment workshop to decorate a cross stich pattern with special stitches and materials organized by Christelle.
A bobbin lace initiation workshop organized by Annick Maubert to make a long necklace, a bracelet or a bag charm learning to use bobbin lace materials (bobbin lace pillow, lace bobbins, preparing the bobbins, etc…), to learn the basic stitches and to make the final jewel.
She is the lacemaker who learned me the bobbin lace technique 2 years ago.
And all this in an idyllic place, the wine domain Château Des Selves in Seillans, a flowered village labelled “the most beautiful village of France”. We have been welcomed by Mylène and her team. Not to say that I didn’t forgot to go to their shop to buy some local products.
All the trainees received a gift sponsored by Aurifil, Italian firm of quality threads. In our envelope there were thread spools, skeins, the pattern to make our first name letter, a lollipop, a color chart of the Aurifil threads.
I can’t wait the next session to embroider new patterns and maybe participate to the advanced embroidery workshop to learn special stitches and embellishments that are possible to make.
To wait, I ordered to Christelle the “Black Psycho” Miguel and the skull head “Karl”, that have been delivered to me with the offered grid of the month of September, Marguerite (Daisy).
